FAQ'S

WHAT IS HEMP-OIL?

Cannabidiol—hemp-oil—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that hemp-oil-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.

IS HEMP-OIL LEGAL?

Our hemp-oil is derived from hemp. The DEA acknowledges that hemp-oil from hemp is legal in the USA, enacted under the 2014 US Farm Bill. This is because “industrial hemp” is excluded explicitly from the drug scheduling definition of marijuana in Section 7606 of the Farm Bill. Meanwhile, using, possessing or distributing hemp-oil from marijuana is technically against current federal law.

WHERE DOES HEMP-OIL COME FROM?

hemp-oil (cannabidiol) belongs to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids, and is one of over 113 active compounds found in the cannabis plant.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HEMP-OIL?

There are many studies exploring the health benefits of hemp-oil including Stress relief, reduced anxiety, reduced inflammation, reduced acne, decreased muscle and joint pain, nausea relief, and improved sleep quality. If you have any questions about if hemp-oil is right for you, consult your doctor.

WILL CLAYBORNE COSMETICS' PRODUCTS GET ME HIGH?

No, our products are 100% THC free! With zero THC, there is no psychotropic effect.

Hemp – NOT to be confused with its close cousin, a psychotropic plant called marijuana – has been used for thousands of years in human history for a variety of purposes, medicine, foods, oils, art canvases, clothes, paper, and much much more. Hemp farming has had a long history in the United States. In fact, seven different presidents were known to have farmed hemp: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Andrew Jackson, to name a few. Hemp has been used extensively as recently as World War II when it was cultivated in Kentucky and midwestern states to make uniforms, canvas, and rope. Up until the 1930’s, hemp was a very powerful “cash crop” in America. In 1937, hemp underwent a massive rejection due to the greed of three of the richest Americans in history who spent millions of dollars to ban hemp from everyday citizens through political means.

HOW DOES HEMP-OIL WORK IN THE BODY?

hemp-oil works in the body by activating receptors and neurotransmitters through a complex network of endogenous cannabinoids called the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Unlike THC, which primarily binds to CB-1 receptors located in the brain, hemp-oil works in the body by manipulating receptors throughout organ tissues, the immune system, the pain response system, the hormonal system, and other whole-body regulatory systems. Basically, since its receptors have been found to exist in virtually every cell and tissue type in the body, hemp-oil is believed to work on every aspect of human health and behavior – from the subcellular level to the whole-body level and beyond.
